Hey, people. Sorry for not posting anything for a while, but it's finally time for Ammon to give a ref. sheet and backstory all to himself. In all his scaley glory.
Name: Ammon
Type: Desert Dragon
Age: 29
Orientation: Gay
Where to begin. Well, to recap and refine from his earlier bio pic, he is the the General of Research and Development for the country of Valden. He is highly intelligent and ingenuitive. Things like being able to mentally calculate, and "McGuyver" objects together on the fly are definately some of this guy's strong suits. However, he has a knack for letting these talents go to his head sometimes. Normally, he is resolute, hardworking, and assertive. But, he can also come off as a bit arrogant. The type to recieve praise, and come off as expecting it was coming. He also feels he shares a deep-rooted rivalry with General Ruze, which I will finally get into.
Story Background. To start, in reference to the map on page one of F&I, he comes the desert oasis town of Salaman. Salaman boasts itself as a major checkpoint for trade through the desert, so you can imagine a lot of money flows through pretty easily. Being the only son of the cheiftan, he grew up in a pretty affluent household where his developing talents were nutured to the best extent possible. So this guy had a lot of stuff already prepared for him from the get-go.
Then, one day, word comes that representatives from the prestigious Rustonia Institute are arriving to scope out scholorship prospectives, and Ammon's life would change forever. When they arrive, Ammon wastes no time in wowing them with his intellect. However at that time, he would be outdone by a new face to town, a young destitute by the name of Ruze. The crux of this story is that while the younger Ammon was busy showing off his intellect, the young Ruze was hard at work producing results. So in a twist of fate, Ruze would end up receiving the grant from the Institute instead of Ammon. Since that day, Ammon would always see Ruze as his greatest obstacle in life. He would take the mistakes he made to heart, and refine himself from them. Not long afterward, he would use his family's influence, and pull a few strings in order to attend the Institute to compete with Ruze; going so far as following him to the title of General in an effort to outdo him once and for all, and absolve the embarrassment he suffered that day.
But, despite the resolve that drove him to such great lengths, petty as they may be, it was his talents that got Ammon recognized by King Drake to be General in the first place. At the end of the day, he is still very capable, reliable, and extremely productive and creative. For all the smoke that blows between Ruze and him, the dude still made a cannon, and to boot, went the extra step to keep developing it much further before revealing it. Qualities like that certainly make for a good person of his position.
That about does it. I will eventually give Ruze an updated profile, but I intentionally held him for the last General on the list since he already has a simple sheet for him. I wanted to be able to give the other characters something to go on, and now since that is done, Ruze should be the next one to do. So look forward to it.
I will post another pic or two in the morning.

Indeed, he is a lot younger than I thought, and we still don't know about his eye. Experiment gone awry, perhaps? I guess it is kind of telling that a lot of his story revolves around Ruze, but considering Ruze's massively overblown ego, I can't exactly fault Ammon for wanting to best him. But still, that insistence of trying to prove himself better than Ruze might be his undoing, considering Ruze's about as close to a sociopath as it can get.
I wonder what his life is like outside of his gadgetry and besting Ruze, especially now that he's working for the king as opposed to living in an affluent household with people to cater to him, though I guess his subordinates would cater to him i it comes to that, but I still get curious as to how he spends any free time and whatnot.
And heck, that could be an interesting chart too, checking just how much the subordinates enjoy working for or hate working for each of the generals. They are indeed the king's most trusted people, but it says a lot if a subordinate likes working for you and trusts you with his life or if it's the opposite and they're doing it cause they got no other choice.

I think the level of how much the King's men trust their superiors is something best left for the stories. It doesn't seem like something that can be measured with just a chart, but rather something best left to be illustrated. As for Ammon's eye, I hope to explain that at another time.
I agree on it being best left for stories, it's more effective that way. We have seen how they react negatively to Ruze and drunken Long, but so far seem to be okay with the rest and sober Long. I do like the fact that you let even minor characters get to have some moments to showcase their personalities. And I do look forward to learning about Ammon's eye, I guess mostly cause eye patches are so dang cool.
Ammon is my favorite of the Generals. I love his design and how for the most part he wears less armor then any of the others.
But even though he' R&D general I'm still willing to be bet he's pretty damn good when it comes to combat.
So with him and Ruze it's kinda a Brain vs Brawn thing between them.
Gotta wander if one day it'll be resolved or reconciled.

I think I asked this before, but I don't think I got an answer (or maybe I just forgot, that tends to happen.)
Does Valden have any rival nations that threaten it? Or are there other sentient beings on the planet besides dragons, that may pose a threat to Valden, seeing how it has not only a strong military, but also apparantly a need for superweapons (if Ammon's WMD cannon is anything to go by.)
